Israeli forces shoot dead Palestinian Journalist in Hebron

CAIRO- June 1, 2022: Israeli forces, on Wednesday, shot dead shot a Palestinian journalist at the entrance of Al-Arroub refugee camp in the occupied West Bank.

 

Ghufran Harun Hamid Warasnah, 31, was shot dead by a bullet fired by the occupation soldiers near Al-Arroub, north of Hebron, announced the Palestinian Ministry of Health in a statement.

 

“The bullet penetrated her chest from the left side (under the armpit), and exited from the right side,” the statement added.

 

The Palestinian embassy in Cairo said in a statement that the Israeli occupation forces preventing ambulances to transport the lady and left her bleeding to death for 20 minutes. Afterwards, she was transported to Al-Ahly Hospital in Hebron as a dead body, the statement added.

 

The journalist was detained by Israeli forces in January 2022 and then released three months later, WAFA Reported.

 

Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh condemned the killing of Warasnah, saying “the International Criminal Court is sending 40 investigators to Ukraine, and in less than two months it has not done the same thing in Palestine for decades.”

 

On May 11, 2022, Israeli forces shot killed Al Jazeera journalist Sherin Abu Akelah as a bullet was fired at her head while she was on her duty.
